I love nature, the outdoors and adventure. I live strongly by the principle that each day is a new opportunity to grow, to explore, and to develop myself. Time in this world is short and we should give ours to the things that truly make us happy.

A healthy lifestyle has not always come easily to me. For years I battled, like many, with unhealthy dieting, yo-yoing weight and the myriad of unhealthy thoughts that go with it all (you’ll know the ones if you’ve been there!).

After years of putting my body through gruelling challenges, never happy with myself (therefore not happy in my mind), it was the discovery of yoga that made me realise there was more to fitness than slogging for miles or pushing to breaking point. In fact, I realised sometimes it’s OK to slow down. I learnt to think of exercise as a treat for my body, not a punishment, all my hang ups began drifting away as I began to accept myself for who I was, I felt freer and finally everything started to fall into place.

Now, with a clear, positive outset, I love to live my life to the full; I have realised that aesthetics are not the be-all and end-all. If we can maintain a healthy mind and body, in whatever way works for us, this will shine from the inside out, leading us to ultimate state of wellbeing and the best version of ourselves we can be.

I now train with a holistic approach, incorporating a variety of training styles I’ve studied over the years. I have learnt to treasure my body and mind, I am aware of my energy levels and above all I appreciate it’s OK to have that piece of carrot cake and not feel guilty; a healthy lifestyle is about balance after all ☺
